Lemonick, M. (1999, Aug, 16). Fast track toddlers. From: time magazine http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,991744-2,00.html

Summary:
This article discusses the fact that some people in United States use a baby Mozart as a way of increasing baby’s intelligence, but that it does not really do that. There are some researchers who show that baby Mozart is one thing that helps the children’s mind to be active. For example, some students listened to baby Mozart and they did well in their exam. In addition, the use of this kind of toys or music makes the child’s brain tired in the future, so when the parents talk to their child and play with him that makes the child happy. Those are some suggestions the author mentions in the article.

Reaction:
I was very happy when I read this article because this is the first time I learned that the baby Mozart is not making the child’s brain develop as I thought. There was one point that really I liked because the author suggested that the parents play with their children, and talk to them to improve the brain development. But there was one point that the author did not discuss which is how we can convince parents to stay with their children at home because most of the parents are busy with daily work. However I think the author should give some advice to the parents who left their children with these toys because in the future the child might become addicted to toys, or he/she cannot sleep at night without listening to baby Mozart. In the end I believe the article was written well, and I learned many things, but the author should include some advice in it.
