Boost Your Baby’s IQ

1.Reference
Dubin, J. W. (n.d). Boost your baby’s IQ. parents.com Retrieved March 31, 2011, from http://www.parents.com/parent

2. Summary
This article tells what is important to enhance your baby’s IQ. First, it is to love and nurture your baby with a good quality. Second, it is to provide your baby with brain-stimulating activities as well. The author of the article suggests a list of things for parent and baby to do, all of them fun; chat him up, hit the books, let your fingers do the talking, try to nurse, give her time alone, snuggle up.

3. Reaction
It makes me comfortable that a lot of fun and games, and tender loving care are more important than a smart, expensive toy to enhance baby’s IQ. The article is likely to give useful information to mom with extreme pursuit of giftedness. Especially, I agree that baby needs some time alone. Nowadays most moms give a baby a lot of exposure to stimuli boosting brainpower, but it can be rather harmful to baby. I think that mom should have some time to relax. On the other hand, I am happy to get to know sign language. It is a new concept to me. It defines sign language as a communication with baby. Referring to a website at babysigns.com, mom can get a variety of benefits using babysigns. I wonder how much of this works to increase IQ, and how many American moms use sign language.
